The oil project – Az. Agricola Borgese

A few years ago Massimo Borgese, an expert enterpreneur and farmer, bought a small property, vineyards and olive groves, but also an old shed, warehouses and farms, near Montefalco, in Umbria, in a fantastic location, a natural terrace facing the Valle Umbra, in view of Assisi. Here Massimo, after a careful and respectful restoration of the buildings, moved with his family and started producing wine and olive oil of high quality with honesty, seriousness and passion. In the conduct of the farm and winery special attention is paid to the environment. In the vineyards integrated production methods and organic fertilizers are used. Recovery of rainwater is implemented. The farm also has a photovoltaic system that makes it completely self-sufficient from an energy point of view. As for the oil production, Borgese is at his second year of conversion to organic system while pressing of the olives is already done in a certified organic mill.

The image of Borgese’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil is very similar (color of label is different) to the image of Sagrantino DOCG and Montefalco Rosso DOC bottles that the company produces. Oil and wine go hand in hand. The ideal business partner for both the Wine and EV Olive Oil, is: specialized, looking for quality at the right price, interested in small productions of which can have an exclusive in his area.
