La Dama: “A shorty story of a fun, useful recovery”

Today we are in Veneto in Negrar, where our friends from La Dama Winery, on top of producing an excellent Amarone, enjoyed getting the family involved in recovering and restoring some quite old (almost “historical”) equipments used in wine making. We want to tell you the story through the words of Gabriele Dal Canale, owner of La Dama:

“I’m a big fan of the “do it yourself “! What happened is that I fell in love with six old concrete tanks my neighbors had. They laid there, neglected in some hidden corner of their winery, no longer used”

“First step: we carefully washed the tanks”

“We have also recruited uncle Sergio, leading expert in the art of ‘historical recoveries’!”

“Then we started rstoring the bottom and the inner lining, using special resins and a lot of hard work!”

“After cleaning, as even the aesthetic wants its part, we painted the outside of each tank”

“The whole family helped, on a beautiful, sunny Saturday, we repainted and decorated the front sides. The kids and my wife had lots of fun restoring the grape leaves shape and rewriting the original tank numbers and capacity”

“Here the pictures of the revamped tanks. Once we added brand new steel doors and accessories …we are done! Tanks are ready to hold wine! So “second act” for these cute tanks is not only nice but useful too and environmentally respectful. The result is great and the experience …. tiring, but fun!”
